Lily Anderson

Lily Anderson has always dreamed of being a writer. Her love of shopping and finding the best deals can be traced back to her teenage years when she’d frequent charity shops searching out statement pieces.

Back in 2015, Lily achieved a BA in Magazine Journalism and Feature Writing from Southampton Solent University. She then spent the beginning of her writing career working across the travel, fashion and publishing industries, before making the switch to What’s The Best in 2019.

Lily is always on the search for the latest products and trends for Mother&Baby, Closer, Heat, Yours and What’s The Best. You’ll usually find her testing the likes of hilarious gifts from Firebox, AmazonBasics Storage Shelves or a Salter Digital Bread Maker.

When she isn’t trying out the latest kitchen appliances, garden furniture and home essentials, Lily is pushing forward health products for women, educational toys and the latest fashion collaborations.

Career highlights include interviewing 90s girl group B*Witched, becoming the unofficial queen of toilet rolls and taste testing wine in the name of journalism.

Outside of her shopping world, Lily enjoys cooking up a tasty meal, reading a good book, dancing at festivals, and trying her hand at photography.

• Do your research: Whether that’s watching TikTok videos or reading customer reviews, find out what others think about your next purchase.

• Wait until payday for big spends: Lots of retailers offer will offer deals around payday and big events like Black Friday.

• Sign up for marketing emails: Shops will often send you reminders about sales and sometimes provide discounts for just joining mailing lists.
